Downtown Bangor Announces Date of Holiday Tree Lighting

One of the events that kicks off the holiday here in Bangor, and maybe officially so, is the annual Holiday Tree Lighting in West Market Square. It's a time to walk amongst the people and get into the Christmas cheer while visiting local shops and making a stop for some food at a local restaurant.

This year, you can view the event Friday, December 3rd on Broad Street, right in West Market Square. The event is listed as 'Holiday Tree Lighting' on Facebook and is scheduled from 4 PM to 8 PM.

This event is always fun to experience with the family and brings a little Christmas cheer to kick off the Christmas holiday.

You can expect carolers to be singing through the streets of downtown, which is always fun. You can also expect local businesses to be staying open a little later for the event and for restaurants and entertainment venues to be bringing great specials and special events.

A few Downtown businesses already have their events added to Facebook for the Tree Lighting event. Accents Home Furnishing and Decor, Inc. on Harlow Street will be open late, until 7 PM, for the tree lighting event while also offering discounts for your own tree ornaments to take home after the Downtown tree lighting. Maine Jewelry and Art, also on Harlow Street, will be having a Holiday open house during the tree lighting event that will offer a tasting event and discounts on products and a chance at a $50 gift card.
