This morning around 9:00a.m., I was dropping my nephew off at work, and for a split second, I thought the breaks on my car had crapped out on me. I was hearing a disturbingly loud, grating sound. When I came to a complete stop, not only did the sound keep going, it got waaaaay louder. And it was right about that second that I saw some fighter jets screaming up on the horizon.

My nephew, being the millennial that he is, already had his phone out, so he managed to snag the sweet pic for me. I wish we'd had more time to get some video, because they kind of circled the city a bit, and did some zipping around, before finally flying off to wherever they were headed. And I was left just sitting there in my car, like I'd just witnessed freedom in action.

Maybe you heard some crazy noises today too, and wondered what the heck was going on. Well, now you know. And as G.I. Joe always used to say at the end of the cartoon...

Knowing is half the battle.
