If you remember awhile back, we explained why the old buildings next to Damon's Beverage & Redemption on Bangor Street in Augusta were being torn down. Damon's announced several months ago that the old building next to the store would be coming down to make room for a brand new building.. a brand new Damon's Beverage & Redemption.

Well this morning, the business's official Facebook Page posted some photos of what is happening there now. Since the old buildings that used to sit next to the long-time store are gone, groundwork on the property has officially begun as crews work to ready the land for construction of the new place.

Damon's Beverage & Redemption is no stranger to operating in large spaces. If you still haven't had a chance to go up and see the Waterville store on Jefferson Street (the former T&B's Outback Tavern), you really need to do that. The Waterville store is massive, features every kind of beer, wine and spirit you can imagine, and even has its very own private tasting room.. which is also huge!

The new Augusta building is expected to be around 8,000 square feet. After the new store is constructed and opens, the old (smaller) store that is currently there will be torn down and made into additional parking.
