I speak from experience when I say hernias can be a downright pain in the midsection.

After birthing four 9+ lbs babies, my abs had seen better days. They were understandably weak, and as such, I ended up with a hernia. Aside from looking unsightly, the hernia caused me constant pain. Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center offers different options for hernia repair including "minimally invasive, robotic-assisted procedures". And to help get the word out about the different ways the hospital might be able to help, Norther Light will be holding a special virtual event Thursday, May 19. This will be a free event, featuring Matthew Sharbaugh, DO, will start at 6 PM and is open to the public. However, you will have to register to attend.

"Community members are encouraged to register by visiting NorthernLight.org/EMMCHernia or calling 207.973.5077."
