An initial investigation into the circumstances of the crash suggests the vehicle was traveling southeast at a very high rate of speed. Shelley appears to have lost control of the vehicle, causing the sedan to cross the center line before leaving the roadway and striking several trees.

The sheriff's office reconstruction, forensic mapping, deputies, and detectives continue to investigate this crash.
