According to Det. Lt. Brent Beaulieu of the Bangor Police Department, authorities were called to 49 Ohio Street for a report that someone had been stabbed.

"The caller reported that the male suspect was being physically detained by another male resident at that address.

Upon arrival, officers found a male being restrained and a female suffering from a laceration to her abdomen. The female was transported to a local hospital by Bangor Fire Department to be treated for her injuries. Her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening,"

Beaulieu says the incident happened around 1:30 PM this afternoon.

Following an interview with police, 34-year-old Kurt Fowler was arrested and brought to Penobscot County Jail where he was charged with a Class B felony.

As the investigation is still active, Beaulieu says they will not release any more details.
