For 32 years, Arby's cranked out sandwiches out of a small building at 57 Bangor Mall Boulevard. Owner Robert Smith opened the Bangor location in 1983 and closed the business upon retiring in July of 2015.

For the past seven years, the building has stood vacant. But that stands to change now, as the building was recently purchased.

According to documents from the City of Bangor, the old Arby's building was sold for $762,000 to a Z&S REALTY ESTATE INC based in Veazie.

A call to the Green Tea Restaurant, currently located at 11 Bangor Mall Blvd. confirmed that the owners of that business were the ones who have bought the building.

There was no word, at the time of the call, as to whether they planned to move the existing restaurant to that location or plan to rent it out to a different business altogether.

And the City of Bangor has not yet received any permitting paperwork that would indicate what the plan might be.

So for now, we know something is in the works, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for the old Arby's building.
