Another Portland Chef Wins Big on ‘Chopped’

I have had the immense pleasure of hanging with 'Figgy' and she just picked up a huge win on 'Chopped'!

Natalie DiBenedetto, the owner Figgy's Takeout and Catering won chopped on March 26th. But what you might not know, is that the episode was filmed over a year ago! According to NewsCenter Maine she's had to keep that a secret for over a year!

She says that was more nerve wrecking than the show and that show was insanely nerve wracking!

But she did it! She won all the rounds and took home 10,000 dollars!

I met Natalie about 2 and a half years ago (they've been there for 4) on my quest to find the best fried chicken. It was amazing and I even got to go behind the scenes and make it myself! Oh and bonus talent - she also does a mean chicken impersonation! Actually...an award winning chicken impersonation!

Figgy (as I call her) has a great story and honestly - her chicken is worth finding parking, and taking it home to enjoy!

I love this story of a single mom moving to a brand new state to make a brand new start. She has not only done that, but become a truly loved part of the community.
