Update: Because of damage from the overnight wind storm, the display will begin on Dec. 2.

A popular and impressive holiday light display has relocated this year. Here's where to catch the dazzling display.

The Hathaway family is going into their 9th season of their annual Hathaway Holiday Lights. Traditionally their home on Hillview Drive in Bangor has been the venue for their light display that attracts many holiday light peepers year to year. This year, the display will relocated to accommodate social distancing.

According to a Facebook post by Rick Hathaway, the light display will move to the Veazie Community School. Hathaway says "the display will be facing School Street and the parking lot across the street to allow for parking with limited traffic disruptions."

Hathaway Holiday Lights Schedule:

  • Dec. 2-11: 4-8:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 12-26: 4-9 p.m.

Light peepers should tune their radio to 88.1FM to get the full effect of the lights dancing along to the music. The lights are all computer programmed, a process that takes many hours to perfect.

This year, the display features 55,000 lights, more than 400 channels of automation, a 25’ mega tree, 25’ snowflake wall, interactive elements and much more.

As is tradition with Hathaway Holiday Lights, donations to the Neonatal Unit at Eastern Maine Medical Center will be accepted at the display.
