Amanda Curry Annual Celebration Happening Today in Brewer, Maine

All day today, you can stop by and give what you can to help support the Bangor Humane Society and a local family in need.

In May 2023, the Bangor area received heartbreaking news when Amanda Curry unexpectedly passed away. Amanda was a mother of two, a valued member of the High Tide family, and a friend to many throughout the community.

Following her passing, social media was filled with an overwhelming outpouring of love, memories, and support from friends, coworkers, and community members whose lives she touched.

Today, from 11am to 10pm, High Tide will host a celebration of Amanda’s life, where friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor her memory.

Helping animals was especially important to Amanda. Each year on her birthday, her family donates to the Bangor Humane Society in her honor. This year, High Tide is partnering with the Bangor Humane Society for “Curry Day,” collecting both physical and monetary donations in Amanda’s memory.

Donations to the “Amanda Curry Memorial Trust,” which directly benefits her daughters, Kieran and Kristin, are also welcome throughout the event.

Live Music Schedule:

Kevin Hamel will perform outdoors on the deck from 12 pm to 3pm and again from 6pm to 8pm

Some of Amanda’s favorite food and drink specials will be featured throughout the day, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Amanda Curry Memorial Trust.

Drink Special:

The Curry Mule — Amanda’s favorite twist on the Moscow Mule, made with Deep Eddy Cranberry Vodka

Let’s come together to celebrate Amanda’s memory. Wear red, bring supplies for the dogs and cats, donate if you can, dance, enjoy a Curry Mule, hug your friends, and share the stories that made Amanda so special.

Event organizers ask guests to please be patient with staff, as a large turnout is expected throughout the day.
