The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office has released more details about in an incident that shut down traffic for part of Friday morning.

 

It all started when staff from the Farmer's Table Restaurant, 15 Stetson Road in Corinna, called the Penobscot County Regional Communications Center. They told a dispatcher that they had received two phone calls from a male, who claimed he had placed an explosive device in the restaurant.

Corinna Fire personnel helped the sheriff's office to close the roads and the building was evacuated, while deputies called in a K9 unit from the Bangor Police Department. The K9 inspected the building and found no explosives on the premises.

Investigators will now work to find the person who placed the calls.
