We always love it when someone comes to Maine for the first time!

A woman named Poppy Balser, who is pretty handy with sketch pad, decided to take a road trip to the great state of Maine.

On her trip, Poppy brought along a painter and photographer, neither of whom had never seen fall colors up close and personal. Kind of mind blowing, but I suppose that is something that we take for granted living here.

What better way to capture the true beauty of autumn, then to head to various spots across the state to gather some inspiration to take pictures, draw them, then finish by painting.

The adventure started at Otter Cliff, a stop by top of Cadillac Mountain right at sunset. Day 2 consisted of a visit to Baxter State park (which is the northern end of the Appalachian Trail) to check out the truly awesome Mt. Katahdin, The 3rd and final day included Rockland's Farnsworth Museum, and a skip by neighboring Camden Harbor.

Check out the video to enjoy these beautiful interpretations of these scenic wonders that make our state so unique. As someone who doesn't have an artistic bone in his body, I was pretty impressed by it.

And if you are planning a trip to the Bar Harbor area, at Acadia, there are a ton of activities from spring through autumn, including car and bus touring along the park's paved loop road, hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding on carriage roads. Rock climbing, kayaking and canoeing on lakes and ponds, swimming at Sand Beach and Echo Lake, and sea kayaking and guided boat tours on the ocean.

Winter activities at Acadia include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing.

Get the family together and go exploring. For more information, check out the Acadia website
