A “Wicked Mainer” Loon Festival Starts Thursday in Lincoln
Maine would be uncharacteristically boring if it wasn't for a truly Mainer experience that is the Lincoln Loon Festival, a busy weekend of family-friendly summertime fun!
The Lincoln area will be flooded with music, food, and tons of fun activities including train rides, auctions, and a color run. ++
Yeah, Bub!
Everything kicks of Thursday, July 18th and goes right through the weekend Sunday, July 21st.
Here's a few "Wicked Mainer" things to check out at this year's loon festival.
Big Ol' Bean Suppah
On Friday at 4 PM, the 72nd Annual River Drivers' Supper will be held at Ludden Field. What can you expect for suppah? Beans, hut dawgs and dessuhts.
Wicked Good Music
Friday evening music will begin at Veterans Memorial Square by The Wicked Good Band. Other acts that night will be there will also be Paradise and Low Talker.
Checkin' Out Cahs At Dysahts
On Saturday, spectators can vote on the best beautiful old and classic cars at this free Cruise-In event at Dysarts on West Broadway.
The Wicked Mainer Loon Parade
Saturday at 11 AM will start the annual Loon Festival Parade, with a children's parade proceeding this event at 10 AM. Bring ya scootahs, bub!
Gettin' Some Deals
Bring your own seat and get ready for the Historical Society Auction at Veterans' Memorial Square starting at 1 PM on Saturday.
Redneck Regatta, Chum!
Saturday - This will be the sixth year this Loon Festival favorite takes place in which contestants use the Mainer tools of the trade- cardboard and duct tape- to build boats and race on a pond.
Wrestlin'
Limitless wrestling, to be exact, will be taking place on the holiest day of the week, Sunday. Be sure to bring your own seat. This starts at 1 PM.
