Spend this weekend in the warm arena of the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor where the 7th annual Maine Harvest Festival will be taking place.  Maine Harvest Festival's website describes the event as the following:

The Maine Harvest Festival brings together farmers, food processors, brewers, fiber artisans, chefs, presenters and YOU to one area where they can showcase, sell, demonstrate and campaign as well as sample, purchase, learn and enjoy all the wonderful things the Maine Harvest Festival has to offer!

For a holiday season just starting, here's the five things we're looking forward to in this year Maine Harvest Festival.

1. Holiday Shopping

With over 150 local vendors a part of the event you are sure to find the perfect gift for everybody on your holiday list.  Here is a short list of the vendors that will be at the event:

2. Live Music

Check out tunes from local musicians Erica Brown & The Bluegrass Connection and Denny Breau.  See a glimpse of what they bring to the stage in the videos below.

3. Alpacas

Check out real Maine Alpacas from Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm located in Unity.  The event has titled their visit as the Maine Alpaca Experience with Robin & Corry Pratt.  I'm not sure what is a part of the experience but there is sure to be alpaca made clothes, yarn and other gifts on-hand as well as saying hi and patting a few of the Alpacas.

4. Local Chefs

Lucerne Inn’s Executive Chef Arturo Montes and local Chef Kate Krukowski Gooding will also be paying a visit to the event by cooking up meals using Maine ingredients.  Their artistry will put a tasty spin on the fantastic foods that Maine grows and will be offering at the event!

5. Wine and Beer and Spirits

Sample it, pair it, swig it or swill it- there will be winery and brewery owners and masters that will have samples that adults with purchased wristbands will be sure to enjoy.  There will be a wine selection event with local wine savant Eric Mihan.  That guy really know his stuff!

6.  Kids are FREE!!!
