It's hard to believe that summer 2018 is coming to a cruel, quick end. The Bangor State Fair has come and gone. The high school fall sports season begins Monday, Aug. 13, and the 2018 Blue Hill Fair begins runs Aug. 30 through Labor Day, Sept. 3.

On Thursday, Aug. 30, the Blue Hill Fair opens at 4 p.m.and runs through 10 p.m. On Thursday night, on the Grandstand Stage at 7 p.m. in conjunction with The Grand it's "Hancock County's Got Talent." Thursday is Dollar Day with admission just $1 per person and $1 per mechanical ride.

Friday, Aug. 31 is Senior Citizen Day. Senior Citizens 62 and over play just $3 for admission. Adult admission is $8 and children under 12 get in for free.

Saturday, Sept. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 2, the fair runs 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, Labor Day, the fair runs 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $10. Children under 12 are admitted for free.

On Saturday Sept. 1, Bob Marley will perform at 7:30 p.m. on the Grandstand Stage. Sunday night, Motor Booty takes to the Grandstand Stage at 7:30 p.m. and then there's a huge fireworks display at 9 p.m.

On Monday, Labor Day, Sept. 3, the Blue Hill Fair offers a wristband special. You can ride all the mechanical rides with the purchase of a $20 wristband
