Over the weekend, it was announced that eight-time Grammy-winning artist Usher will headline the 2024 Apple Music Halftime Show for Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Now, I have great respect for Usher and his talent, but to my knowledge, he has never performed in Bangor. On the other hand, the acts I'm about to mention have graced our city's stages, and I believe they could have stirred up some excitement.

In selecting the perfect Halftime Show performance, several factors come into play: recognition, a diverse repertoire of well-known hits, and the ability to captivate millions for a brief but thrilling 10-minute performance. Considering these aspects, the acts I'm about to highlight would have been ideal for this year's Halftime Show had Usher not been available.

Also, Bangor has a rich history of hosting concerts spanning many decades. For the sake of brevity, let's focus on acts from the past 10 years to narrow down our options.
