Surprise, Ubisoft is actually releasing a game early! The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Rayman Legends will now arrive in the U.S. one week earlier.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions will hit on Feb. 18, seven days earlier than originally planned. Ubisoft detailed some of the additions coming to the next-gen iterations over on its official blog, including just what makes the PS4 and Xbox One ports worth checking out.

We already knew about the console-specific costumes like Sam Fisher and Edward Kenway, but Legends will be improved in other ways, too. First, limited achievements will be part of the Xbox One version, each of which will be tied to specific portions of the platformer like co-op or Kung Foot. The PlayStation 4 touchpad will let you scratch off Lucky Tickets, but you can also use it to enter Camera Mode. There, you'll be able to zoom in and around the highly-detailed level to find the perfect snapshot to share with friends. The PS4 version also includes Remote Play on the Vita.

Both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will boast improved (somehow) visuals, too. "The power behind the Xbox One and the PS4 allows us to display the game’s textures without any compression on these consoles," said Lead Game Designer Emile Morel. "This makes the game’s visuals even sharper than before and will allow players to see even more of the details and nuances our artists put into the textures of the game. These uncompressed textures highlight the hand-drawn style of the game’s visuals." Additionally, there will be no loading times on next-gen. Once you enter a painting to start the level, the action will begin immediately.

We already thoroughly enjoyed Rayman Legends the first time, and this next-gen port sounds like it'll give us the perfect excuse to play again next month.
