Jennifer Lawrence is adorable. This isn't new. But she proved just how versatile that adorableness is by sporting large bouffant locks on the set of her new film today.
You can't imagine two films more different than 'The Croods' and 'Olympus Has Fallen,' but right now the two of them sit on top of the box office chart, both temporarily linked by the fact that a bunch of people apparently wanted to see them this weekend. It's the first time in forever that two films have opened to over $30 million at the same time...but it wasn't golden for all of the new releases.
'Captain America 2,' dubbed 'The Winter Soldier,' is reportedly gearing up to present a panel at this year's Comic-Con, where we hope we'll hear (and perhaps see) some much-needed previews from the Cap's next adventure. Since production has nearly begun, we were under the impression that the cast, at least for the most part, was all set and done, but it turns out that Marvel might have one final addition in the form of Robert Redford. But whom might he play?
I have to admit, I'm kind of a Trekkie. I mean, I don't dress up in costume or pretend that I'm Lieutenant Uhura. But I grew up watching the original Star Trek. And so I'm excited about the newest movie, with a newer, younger cast! Zachary Quinto is a very convincing-looking Spock. Wow!
James Franco might not be the best actor working in movies today, but he's almost certainly the most fearless. His choices are as unpredictable as they are gutsy. He'll try just about anything: television dramas ('Freaks & Geeks'), soap operas ('General Hospital'), comedies ('Pineapple Express'), and big blockbusters ('Spider-Man,' 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes'). His latest role, in Harmony Korine's 'Spring Breakers,' might be his craziest and most daring to date. He plays Alien -- pronounced "A-Leen" in Franco's South Florida drawl -- a drug dealer and aspiring rapper who likes to boast that he's from another planet. Franco's performance is suitably extraterrestrial: hilarious, disturbing, deranged, poignant and endlessly quotable. In an instant classic scene, Alien shows off all his prized possessions -- machine guns and money and nunchucks and 'Scarface' DVDs on constant repeat -- while screaming "Look at my s---!" Alien's orders are superfluous; any time Franco's onscreen, you can't take your eyes off him.
Selena Gomez has the best behaved character as Faith in 'Spring Breakers,' and apparently she was also the best behaved behind the scenes.
New photos of the cast and their antics have emerged via Vice, and no outlet would have been more appropriate for her co-stars, who seemed to really relish getting in character and acting like trashy co-eds.
Ready for something mind-blowing? Harrison Ford is probably going to be in 'Star Wars Episode 7.'
Ready for something else mind-blowing? Harrison Ford is 70 years old. Seriously, look at this man.
But we digress.
We're excited for 'Fast and Furious 6' - very excited. (Seriously, did you see that trailer?) But one movie that could get us just as excited, if not more, than 'Fast and Furious 6' would be a spinoff starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and his Hobbs character. And it just so happens that The Rock says that such a movie is something they're planning.
Producer Joel Silver has his sights set on 'Escape From New York' teaming with production company StudioCanal to remake the classic 1980s film and bring Snake Plissken back to the big screen.
