Augusta police are searching for a man who robbed the Big Apple convenience store on Stone St. early Monday morning.

Augusta police Major Jared Mills says the man walked into the store around 1:30 a.m. and handed an employee a note demanding money.

A photo from a surveillance camera shows the suspect wearing a ski hat, sunglasses and a scarf covering his face.

Mills says the man was given an undisclosed amount of money and he fled the store on foot.

Local police and a State Police K-9 searched parts of Stone St., Eastern Ave. and Middle St. but were not able to locate the suspect.
