Assassin's Creed has always played with the idea of genetic memory and time hopping before, but Unity seems to be taking things to a whole new level with this new trailer.

The latest trailer for Assassin's Creed Unity goes modern. First we see Arno doing what Assassins do, brooding over his next kill and such, when a mysterious and disembodied female voice warns the "assassin" that the French Revolution "simulation" is collapsing. We then see weird, red lines appearing all over the Animus with Arno ending up in World War II-era France being shot at by biplanes as he climbs up the Eiffel Tower surrounded by blimps. A siren goes off, Arno hides his eyes, and the trailer ends. Ok, what? We're pretty sure this strange adventure will be a part of Unity's DLC and explained as some kind of Animus training program of some sort.

We've always wondered if a single Assassin's Creed game could handle two separate time periods, and Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China seemed like a step in the right direction, but Unity may have been hiding a secret this entire time. We don't know about you readers, but this has left us scratching our heads.

We'll see exactly what this time anomaly thing is all about when Assassin's Creed: Unity launches November 11 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
