The spirit of giving for the holidays has already arrived!

I was logging on to our Facebook account yesterday, with the intention of a quick surf through the news feed, to see what everyone was up to.

Checking my inbox, I came across this message from a Z listener, who was kind enough to let me share this story with all of you.

Good morning Kid... I have a story I'd like to share with you... Last Friday I was working... I work with adults with intellectual disabilities and we were bowling at family fun lanes... There was an elderly bowling league taking place and I noticed a gentleman watching me interact with my clients. As we were getting ready to leave, he took me by the hand and placed a folded up bill in my hand and asked me to pass it on to someone else. I looked at the bill unable to see anything but that it was money, thanked him and told him I would pass it on. As I went out to my car, I opened the bill and it was $100... I thought about what I wanted to do to pass it on and I'd like to donate it to Free The Z but I'd like to tell the story in hopes to inspire others to do similar acts of kindness... I'm not sure why he picked me to pass it on but the gift that he's given me to touch others lives is far more than the money could ever give me. Thank you for your time and I hope you have a good day... Marjie MacDonald

Thank you, Marjie! Stories like that are what events like "Free The Z" are all about. Time and time again, our community comes through with amazing results for those who are less fortunate in our area.

Free The Z 2013 begins on Tuesday, November 19th at 6am. People need our help. I hope you will stop by the Brewer Hannaford parking lot and make a donation. A frozen turkey, or $10 equals one towards our total of 2013. And as always, the good folks at Manna, will distribute everything collected to those in our area who may not have a Thanksgiving meal.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Kid
