Waterville Man Gets Record Deal After Sing-Off With Rascal Flatts

A man from Waterville got the chance of a lifetime ... twice! Jeremy Greene reached out to Gary LeVox from Rascal Flatts, and challenged him to a "sing-off" to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club. He was calling the event 'Cov-Aid'. Surprisingly, LeVox accpeted the challenge!

Over the course of the challenge, LeVox was super-impressed with Jeremy's vocal skills, and offered to sign him to his record label. Can you imagine? It would be an honor just to share the mic with such a great singer from such a huge band. But then to have your talent recognized in such a big way, is what dreams are made of.

Jeremy said this to WGME - TV13:

People from New England have been very, very supportive, my family, my friends. It's just been incredible, I can't even believe this is happening. I mean he's a legend, I mean Rascal Flatts is a country music legend, and to have this opportunity, is like, certainly not going to waste it I’ll tell you that.

But as any seasoned musician will tell you, this is where the real work begins. Back in my days before radio, my band had a record deal. We made a couple albums out in L.A. in big studios with big producers. We even got our video on MTV a couple times, back when they still showed videos.

For me, it didn't pan out. That's not to say I regret that period. Not at all. Far from it. It was one of the best times of my life. But, record deals don't automatically mean fame. Jeremy has a long road full of hard work ahead of him. However, Mainers have always had a reputation as hard workers.
