If you live in Carmel and you're looking to do a bit of fall cleanup around your house and yard, you're gonna love this weekend.

According to the Town of Carmel's Facebook Page, all you have to do is stack your stuff curbside by 7 AM Saturday, and the town will come by and pick it up for you.

There is a list of items they will and will not accept.

For instance, any of the following is fair game.

Appliances: Washers, Dryers, Microwaves, Stoves, Compactors, and Dishwashers

Things the town cannot and will not pick up:

Nothing that could potentially explode, catch fire or cause environmental damage.

No gas, gas cans, propane tanks, computer monitors, refrigerators, CFL bulbs. No chemicals, paints, pesticides, or glue. Nothing with mercury or freon in it. No brush or wood debris.

That being said, there are other ways in which you can safely dispose of those things. You can find great resources for this at the Maine.gov website.

The Town of Carmel Website also says there's a certain way they'd like the items for Fall Clean Up placed.

"Please pile all metals separately from bulky waste piles. Mixed debris will NOT be taken."

If you have any questions, you can reach out to the Town directly by calling 948-2658.
