One of Bangor's iconic pizza joints has been sold.

It was announced today that R.H Foster Energy LLC, the owner of Freshies Delis, has purchased the property at the corner of Center Street and Broadway.

Now worry not pizza lovers, a press release from R.H Foster today tells us that Tri-City Pizza will continue to offer the "same great pizza and sandwiches" that they've been producing for almost five decades.

The business also will remain at its current location. The now former co-owners will stay on during the transition to make sure that all goes smoothly.

Both R.H. Foster and Tri-City Pizza have been in business for over 50 years here in Maine, and Katie Foster, executive manager at R. H. Foster, tells us that, "The relationships that R. H. Foster has with our customers and our communities is something that is incredibly important to our family, we are pleased to align ourselves with another locally owned family business that shares our values."

We told you earlier this month that the iconic pizza shop was for sale, and of course fans of Tri-City Pizza were greatly concerned as it has always been one of the "go-to" places for those that live in the city and beyond.

Do you know the origins of Tri-City Pizza's name? We solved that mystery for you.
