Portland Pie Company To Replace Verve In Downtown Bangor

The Portland Pie Company is opening a new location in Bangor.

I saw a post on the Downtown Bangor Facebook page, who got the news via a press release from Portland Pie Company, and it looks like they're going to set up shop in the old Verve Burritos space on Main Street.

It was definitely sad news several weeks back when Verve shuttered its doors and called it a day, but for pizza lovers and foodies of all types, this is good news. Bangor's growing restaurant scene has plenty of room for this new addition.

When I lived in Westbrook, Portland Pie was literally right across the street. So my wife and I were definitely regulars, and since she has celiac disease, it was one of the few places we could get a quality gluten free pie. They make their own gluten free dough that is way better than the usual frozen disc that most places offer.

The news is pretty fresh at this point, so there's no talk right now of when it will be open for business. But, the windows at the former Verve location have been covered with paper for quite some time, so it may be sooner than we think. We will definitely keep you posted as details come about.

Porltand Pie's Bangor location will be its eighth. The restaurant has locations in Portland, Westbrook, Brunswick, Scarborough, Biddeford, Waterville and Manchester, N.H., according to its website.
