State Police are investigating the death of a 13-year-old Yarmouth girl as a suicide.

The teen is Emma Daley, a seventh grader at the Harrison Middle School in Yarmouth. Police say she was found unresponsive at her home by family members just after 6:00 Monday evening. She was rushed to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she died shortly after arrival. Emma is the daughter of Danyelle and Kevin Pettie of Yarmouth.

Yarmouth Police and Rescue initially responded to the home, but called in State Police to investigate, per the Attorney General's protocol for anyone under 17 or younger suspected of committing suicide. An autopsy is planned for Wednesday to determine cause of death.
