Orrington Man Dies in Jackson Single-Vehicle Crash

An Orrington man is dead and a Belfast man injured after a single-vehicle crash in Jackson over the holiday weekend.

The accident happened at approximately 3:30 Saturday afternoon, on Moosehead Trail in Jackson. State Police say a Pontiac Grand Am, driven by 60-year-old Douglas Bryant of Orrington, was traveling south when it went off the road, striking a culvert, and then a large tree. Douglas Bryant died as a result of the crash. His passenger, 45-year-old Troy Bryant of Belfast, was transported to Waldo County General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say it appears intoxicants may have been a contributing factor to the accident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
