An old bank building will be torn down, in order to make room for a new parking lot in Downtown Bangor.

The parking lot will benefit employees of businesses located in Key Plaza, where a former drive-thru bank currently sits. The old building that's located next to Pickering Square Parking Garage will be torn down and replaced with a gated parking lot that will feature 35 spaces.

Carol Epstein, of Epstein Properties told WABI-TV that there's an ongoing need for parking in Downtown Bangor, and that, by giving some employees a designated place to park, it frees up more spaces for downtown visitors. Construction will take place this summer.
