MTV ‘Road Rules’ Star Found Dead in Brooklyn Apartment
The MTV family has encountered a sad loss — Danny Dias, who appeared on Season 13 of Road Rules in 2004, has died, according to TMZ. He was 34.
The site reports that Dias was in his apartment in Brooklyn on Saturday (June 3) when a friend noticed him take LSD and mushrooms. Dias then allegedly freaked out and stormed into his room. His friend eventually left.
Over the next two days, the friend tried to get in touch with Dias to no avail. Finally, the friend made his way back to Dias' apartment and found him dead. Police responded to a subsequent 911 call at 5 PM.
A police intelligence operations spokesman told Us Weekly "No criminality suspected at this time. The Medical Examiner is going to determine the cause of death. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing."
Dias, who was born in Linden, New Jersey, studied musical education in college. His Road Rules season explored towns and cities in Argentina and Chile, but he was voted out in the season's sixth episode. He later went on to compete in The Challenge: Gauntlet 2.
