For young people, and those who suppor them across Maine it's the Maine Youth Conference.  The deadline for registration is April 6 through the Maine Youth Action Network (MYAN).

Happening over two days (April 15-16), this Maine Youth Leadership virtual conference will feature interactive workshops, youth-only community spaces, and keynote speeches from inspiring youth leaders here in the state of Maine. This annual conference from the Maine Youth Action Network - traditionally featuring interactive workshops, song, dance, and poetry performances and youth networking opportunities - cannot be held in-person, but that's not stopping it.

You are invited for a virtual, youth-led event built to foster the very connection which has been so hard to find this year. This year has forced us to make relationships and meaningful connections in new ways. Building community, even virtually, is so important. While the annual conference is different form than years’ past, they really believe it has never been so needed that a space is created to bring young people into community right now.

This conference is focused on being a fun and collaborative space that brings young people together in virtual community. In addition to free registration for everyone, all presenters, speakers, workshop leads and artists who are featured have been offered a stipend to compensate them for their valued work.

The virtual conference is designed by and for middle school and high school aged young people, as well as recent graduates and college-aged youth. Registration is free and open now on MYAN's website. Fill out the form on the event page for access to the two full days of virtual events. Each workshop session will feature a specific issue area and presentation style, with some interactive and discussion-based opportunities to participate.
