The Maine Warden Service has recovered the body of a New York man who's believed to have drowned.

UPDATE: The Maine Warden Service report the body of Yohanna Milad Israel Rizk of New York City was recovered from Bryant Pond in Woodstock just before 2:30 Monday afternoon.

The search for Yohanna Milad Israel Rizk, 28 of New York City, is expected to resume today in Woodstock. Wardens say Rizk went into Bryant Pond when his kayak flipped over, dumping him into the 47 degree water around 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Rizk was not an experienced kayaker and didn't know how to swim. Officials say he also was not wearing a life jacket. Friends who witnessed from the shore told authorities that Rizk struggled to grab the kayak before going under the water. Two of his friends jumped in kayaks and rushed out to help him, but there was no sign of him.

Members of the Maine Warden Service and Woodstock Fire Department searched the pond with boats Sunday afternoon, but couldn't find Rizk. The only sign of him, so far, is one of his gloves that washed ashore.

Searchers plan to return to the pond at 8 a.m. on Monday, and use a side scan sonar to find the man who's presumed to have drowned. Officials say the area of the pond where Rizk was kayaking is about 40 feet deep.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
