Police say a Lincoln woman, arrested last week for hindering apprehension of a fugitive, allegedly drove a Bangor shooting suspect to Portland.

According to the BDN, Cindy McVicar's attorney claims her client didn't know about the shooting when she agreed to drive Antoinne Bethea to Portland. He's accused of shooting to death Terrance Durel during an argument on Easter Sunday. Durel's mother has told reporters that her son went to his ex-wife's house to discuss their son. Bethea is the woman's boyfriend and, when the discussion got heated, Durel was shot and later died of his injuries.. McVi car was arrested on Friday.

The prosecution disagrees, saying that they believe the 45-year did know what was going on and still agreed to take the suspect out of town. Because McVicar has an extensive criminal history, including trafficking in prison contraband and unlawful furnishing of drugs, prosecutors asked for bail to be set at $30,000 while defense attorneys requested $300. Bail was set at $30,000.

Bethea remains at large. Police urge anyone with information about his whereabouts to call the Bangor Police at (207) 947-7384.
