Young Money meets family money.

Lil Wayne signed Paris Hilton to a record deal on his Young Money label because ... well, we honestly have no idea.

Young Money president Birdman explained to The Los Angeles Times, "She's always supported us, and we've supported her. It was a friendship first. She played us music, and I was taken aback. I was impressed by her music, and I didn't know she could sing so well."

As a reminder, her 2006 single 'Stars Are Blind' did pretty well, but that was also at the height of her fame -- about a year before she was usurped by all things Kardashian.

Birdman further confirmed the apocalypse news on Twitter:

Young Money also blew the news up. In all caps. Our heads hurt:

Meanwhile, Hilton thanked her fans for making her trend on Twitter following the announcement:

Paris told Showbiz 411 that her ex, EDM DJ Afrojack, will produce the record and that Lil Wayne will be featured on the album. It's going to be all EDM, as Hilton's been making the rounds attempting to DJ in that scene for the past year.

"This is a lot different than my first album," Hilton said. "It's really going to be house music."

As for what else she's been busy with? There's that whole Filipino beach club thing, for starters. Plus: "I'm getting ready to launch my 17th perfume, and I'm also starting the Paris Hilton Foundation for children's causes ... I just want to have the best life possible."
