"Initial investigation shows that a 2016 Ford F-250 Pick-up truck, driven by 76-year-old Jeffrey Reutter of Stetson, crossed the center line, and struck a Versant Power truck driven by 43-year-old Adam Powers. Powers was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Reutter was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center for serious, life-threatening injuries. Reutter succumbed to his injuries on May 8th, 2025."

Authorities say a drone was used to reconstruct the scene. Traffic was closed for most of the afternoon while members of the Sheriff's Department, along with local fire, police, and ambulance units, aided with the recovery, cleanup, and investigation.

The road was reopened several hours later.
