Update: Missing Bangor Man Found Dead, Four Charged In Connection
Update from Bangor PD as of 10/31/2024
Det. Sgt. Tim Shaw of the Bangor Police Department says Melvin was apprehended Wednesday.
"On October 30, 2024 Holden Melvin 32, was arrested by the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department. He is currently at the Penobscot County Jail."
Bangor Police say the body of a man who went missing in September has been recovered, and four men are facing charges in connection to his murder.
Det. Sgt. Tim Shaw with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Bangor Police Department says authorities had been looking for 27-year-old Dylan Caruso of Corinth since he went missing from Bangor at the end of September.
Shaw says Caruso's body was recovered last Wednesday (October 23) in the woods in Exeter. An autopsy conducted by Maine's Chief Medical Examiner determined he'd been murdered.
They arrested the man they believe is responsible.
"As a result of the investigation by the Bangor Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division in conjunction with the Attorney General’s office of the State of Maine and with the assistance of the Maine State Police, an arrest warrant was issued for Kenneth Creamer 35, of Exeter charging him with the crime of Murder."
Shaw says three other men are being charged in the case, as well.
"Arrest warrants were also issued for Dylan Boyce 31, of Exeter, Holden Melvin 32, of Charleston and Dylan Belanger 31, of Corinth for the charge of Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution, Class B. Boyce was charged on 10/29/24 as he was incarcerated on a previous charge at the Somerset County Jail. Belanger was arrested and taken into custody on 10/30/24 without incident in Bangor. "
Shaw says they have not arrested Holden Melvin yet because they do not know where he is. Bangor Police are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the department.
