
Aroostook County Man Arrested After Police Say He Damaged Property And Made Threats To Girlfriend
A man from Aroostook County was taken into custody Thursday and charged with domestic violence after police say he made threats to harm his girlfriend and damaged property at their residence in Cross Lake Township.

According to the Maine Department of Public Safety, the Maine State Police, with assistance from the North Lakes Fire Department and the ASI Ambulance service, responded to a call from a woman in the home about a domestic disturbance just after 7:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.

"The woman left the residence prior to Troopers arriving. Upon arrival, Troopers determined the man involved, 37-year-old Nicolas Dionne of Cross Lake Township, remained inside the home and was refusing to come out. The Maine State Police Tactical Team and Crisis Negotiation Team were activated and responded to the scene. After several hours of communication, Dionne exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident at approximately 8:00 pm."

Authorities say that no one was injured in the process of apprehending Dionne. He was arrested and taken to the Aroostook County Jail. He faces charges of Domestic Violence Terrorizing and also creating a police standoff.
