Did You Know This Maine City Is a Trending Travel Destination for This Summer?

Many Americans will be catching a flight and traveling to vacation destinations this summer, and according to Google Flights, Bangor, Maine, is a trending destination.

Data released by Google Flights in March showed Bangor at No. 9 among trending domestic summer travel destinations.

Google Flights says that access to outdoor activities is a major reason why Bangor is trending.

It makes sense, considering Bangor is about an hour from Acadia National Park.

Visitors can also take a trip up Interstate 95 from Bangor and head to Baxter State Park or the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument.

"Destinations with easy access to the great outdoors, like Billings, Montana, Juneau, Alaska and Bangor, Maine are trending in the U.S. And along those same lines, 'cabins' are the top-trending type of lodging for romantic getaways, and 'dude ranch' is the top-trending type of vacation for families in the U.S. this year," Google Flights says. "For shorter weekend getaways, outdoor destinations like upstate New York, Joshua Tree National Park, and Sedona, Arizona are also trending on Search."

Here's the complete top 10 trending list from March, which Google Flights says was based on searches for flights departing June 1 through August 31, 2025, from U.S. airports.

Maine is a great state, and people come from all over to enjoy its natural beauty, outdoor activities, and delicious seafood, especially lobster.

Maine's called Vacationland for a reason. It should be trending every summer.
