Davis Court is not a street that gets much traffic in Bangor, so here is something you might not have seen, or might not know is happening.

The four properties at 23, 24, 26, and 30 Davis Court all have been boarded up, and there is equipment at the properties that suggest all will be demolished.

The house at 30 Davis Court was demolished this week.

If you are wondering where Davis Court -- such a small street with only four houses -- is located, it's not far from Main Street Dunkin' and Maine Savings Amphitheater.

It is public record that the Bangor Region YMCA owns the parcels. The Bangor YMCA has purchased a total of six lots -- including those on Davis Court and two on First Street -- all within the past 90 days. Those lots are outlined in red below.

Wondering what is next?

It's no secret that the Bangor Region YMCA is considering an expansion of its services beyond what is permitted at its current location on Second Street.

It's also no secret that the City of Bangor Economic Development Strategic Report supports the YMCA's potential expansion in a location near the city's downtown, if possible. (You can find the recommendation on page 29.)

"The YMCA's vision for its future and the activities it is planning to provide as part of its expansion will bring exactly the kinds of recreation and wellness amenities that many residents feel are missing," reads the April 11 report.

"An expanded, upgraded YMCA would be a tremendous asset to the community and provide assets that will be critical to improving its livability."

The recommendation is one of many in the report, prepared by Better City, an economic development consulting firm in Utah.

While there are no plans filed for the Davis Court and First Street parcel, it sounds like the location could fit the report's criteria.

As they say, stay tuned. We'll be sure to keep you updated on any new developments.

Until then, here is your last look at the Davis Court properties.
