HGTV Films in Northern Maine

Even more Maine TV time!

HGTV was in the county last week filming a spinoff of 'House Hunters' called 'Lakefront Bargain Hunt.' HGTV wanted to film at the peak of fall to showcase the beauty of northern Maine after investigating the area with Google Earth. The show follows home hunters seeking a lakeside property, without breaking the bank.

Greg Doak works for the University of Maine at Presque Isle, and happened to be exploring lakefront homes at the right time. With the assistance of real estate broker Jane Towle, Doak explored four homes with a production crew from HGTV. They looked at homes on Hanson, Echo, Scopan and Portage lakes. Portage Lake is near the Wolfe family camp, maybe we have a new neighbor!

The episode will air in late December or January.
