Going To A 4th of July BBQ – What’s Your Side Dish, Maine? [POLL]

Okay, let’s get at it. The 4th of July weekend is almost upon us. Who among us "Just can’t wait?" We need a long weekend, it has been too long.

I hope you and the family and friends have lots of 4^th of July plans.  Maybe the fireworks along the Penobscot?  And in many communities in all corners of Maine. I think the earliest ones start at 9 p.m.. and the latest start at 9:45 p.m. If we had the ability to be up in the air and travel at a nice speed we’d see show after show for an hour.

Maybe you line the streets for a patriotic parade?  Nothing like celebrating America than with a parade.

Independence Day weekend is also a great time to have a barbeque. So let’s play hat if”. Here’s how it goes. I’m hosting the BBQ, you have been invited. I will supply the meat and I ask you to bring a side dish or two.  What would you bring.  What is your ‘Oh Wow’ dish that everyone who knows you says is delicious.

Now let me get some stuff ready on the grill for the guests.

The reason I start with hot dogs is simple. I rarely eat hot dogs. And there is no better way to cook a dog than on the grill.

That looks like Rosemary on top of those steaks. I didn't know she was going to be here.

Those burgers look good. How do you like yours cooked?  And do you want cheese on yours?

Chicken is another great item from the grill. Aren't you glad we're Americans and we get so much great variety when we eat. I could eat chicken almost everyday for the rest of my life and still love it.

Hope you came hungry. Sausages will be ready in a few minutes.

Fish on the grill. Mostly I bake fish, but it is the 4th of July. Let's live it up.
