A color run using glow-in-the-dark colors will be held in Old Town this weekend, to benefit the Maine Credit Union League's Ending Hunger Campaign.

This sounds like so much fun! Penobscot County Federal Credit Union is hosting the family-friendly 5K, that's open to all ages and all fitness levels. Participants will run or walk around the the track at Old Town High School's Victory Field.

At several points around the track, they will encounter 'color stations' where volunteers will toss cornstarch-based powder on their t-shirts. But what makes this run different is that the cornstarch is UV activated, and the track will be illuminated with black lights, so the color will glow in the dark!

Pre-registration for the third annual Color 5K for Ending Hunger is open through Thursday, June 15th, but folks can register in person on Saturday, beginning at 7 p.m. The cost for participating is only $15 for adults, and free to children under the age of 10.

Before the 5K gets started, folks can join in on some dance fitness, lead by Dance Fit Coach Amy McFalls-Smith, beginning at 7:30 p.m. And once the race is over, participants are invited back to a post-race party where there will be more dancing, color pops, and plenty of fun!
