This year will mark the Bangor Humane Society's 27th year holding "Paws on Parade", the organizations largest yearly fundraiser. While in years past, walkers and their furry friends would gather and traverse a pre-planned path together on the day of the event, this year is going to be different. With restrictions on gatherings of crowds, event organizers are asking people to register, and according to their website,

"Walk or run as far you want, when you want, and with who you want (we hope it's your dog!)! Just wear your t-shirt, take a photo, and share it to social media using the hashtags #stillwalking and #findMEahome. There's really only one rule: HAVE FUN!"

The Paws On Parade Facebook Event page lists the event as taking place between September 17th through the 27th.. They say they once registered, walkers will receive a t-shirt and a package "full of other surprises".

There will also be a photo contest, like in previous years. So if you're pooch likes to prance, this will be a good time for them to strut their stuff!

The Bangor Humane Society's goal is to raise $100-thousand dollars, with only $8-thousand raised so far. They're hoping this event will not only give folks a chance to get out, with their pets, and enjoy some fresh air, but that it will inspire folks to get out their wallets and donate!

The BHS reopened, following a massive renovation project, and being shut down because of Covid-19, at the beginning of last month. If you'd like to check out the animals they have up for adoption, or to sign up for this year's "Paws on Parade" event, you can visit their website, https://www.bangorhumane.org/.
