A man who currently lives in Brewer was arrested yesterday for a warrant connected to a North Carolina homicide.

Bangor Police Sergeant Wade Betters said in a media release that their department was informed by the Halifax County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina that 26-year-old Javon Richardson was on a plane, headed for Bangor. A full extradition warrant had been issued, which charged Richardson with Obstructing Justice in connection with a homicide that took place in Hollister, N.C. on April 11th.

When Richardson got off the plane, Bangor Police Officers were waiting for him and took him into custody near the luggage carousel. He did not resist arrest before being taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where he will be held pending extradition back to North Carolina. Police say it's believed Richardson had lived in North Carolina before moving to Brewer.

According to rrspin.com, a news website for Halifax County, Richardson is wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of 33-year-old Roderick Bluesky Mills. Sheriff Wes Tripp of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office told rrspin that Richardson was the one who called 911 and was at the scene when deputies arrived. But he allegedly turned uncooperative when questioned. Investigators contacted Bangor Police after Richardson boarded a plane for home, after being told he was not to leave the state.
