A Maine made film is coming home!

After captivating critics and audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, 'Beneath The Harvest Sky' is on its way to another huge film fest. The Tribeca Film Festival in New York City will be the film's U.S. debut, beginning April 18th. However, before the flick goes national, it will be shown around the state in which it was filmed.

Beginning April 25th you can watch the film at the Bangor Mall Cinema! On the 25th's evening screenings there will be a Q&A session with the filmmakers Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly. By the way, they were recently named among the '10 Directors to Watch' by Variety magazine!

Other screenings beginning on April 25th include:

  • Bar Harbor - Reel Pizza Cinerama with Q&A with filmmakers April 27th at both screenings.

  • Portland - Nickelodeon Cinemas with Q&A with filmmakers April 26th at the evening screenings.
  • Belfast - Colonial Theater.
  • Brunswick - Frontier Cinema & Cafe.
  • Bucksport - Alamo Theatre. Three days only!
  • Caribou - Caribou Cinemas.
  • Houlton - Temple Theatre.
  • Waterville - Railroad Square Cinema.

The film follows two friends, one whom is trying to save money for a car and move out of town. The other, looks to follow in his father and uncles footsteps in the illegal drug trade along the border. The film is said to be fiction but is biased on the harsh reality of prescription drug abuse.

‘Beneath The Harvest Sky’ stars Aiden Gillian of ‘Game of Thrones,’ Callen McAuliffe from ‘The Great Gatsby’ and Emory Cohen from the TV show ‘Smash.’

‘Beneath The Harvest Sky’ will be available on all cable Video on Demand services, iTunes and Amazon Instant on April 15th.
