Bangor Police say a man was shot and wounded in the parking lot of a local church.

Sergeant Wade Betters said the incident happened at approximately 3:00 Sunday morning. Officers were called to 1195 Ohio Street, where they found a male victim who was wounded. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and has since been released. The suspect fled the scene.

The church was not open at the time of the incident.

This case remains under investigation by the Bangor Police Criminal Investigation Division.
