Strap on the bib, grab the butter and get ready to belly up.

Yes, that summer time feeling will be enhanced in the Bucksport area this coming weekend as Carrier's Mainely Lobster officially opens for the season.  Lobster and other fine seafood like clams, shrimp, scallops and haddock will begin to be prepared and the burgers will hit the grill this Sunday, April 18th.

Things will be a little different this season at Carrier's Mainely Lobster, as they've recently constructed an big open air dining room for outdoor eating.

Beside featuring lobster and other fresh seafood, the family owned Carrier's Mainely Lobster specializes in wraps, salads, burgers and ice cream.  They're located at the corner of Routes 1 and 46.

While Carrier's Mainly Lobster opens this Sunday, Crosby's Drive-In will officially open for the season this Saturday, the 17th.  Crosby's Drive-In is just a few feet up Route 46 from Carrier's, which gives a hungry Mainer in the Bucksport area plenty to choose from during the summer months.

More and more seasonal places around the area are opening this week as well, including the new Holden A Kone, an ice cream take-out at the KOA Campground on Route 1A in Holden which opened this past Thursday. You can also add in the ever growing in popularity Tracy's Seafood on Route 1 in Sullivan, which is scheduled to open this coming Thursday, April 23rd.

Meanwhile, the world awaits the opening of Jordan's Snack Bar in Ellsworth, and so far there is no clue as to when that may be.
