Woman Injured at Winterport Dragway

A freak accident at Winterport Dragway left one woman with some broken bones. The woman was hit by a car being driven by her boyfriend.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland said Jay Lundevall, age 53 from Warren, was done racing for the day and was driving his car onto a trailer. His girlfriend, Dale Harvey, age 50 and also from Warren, was on the trailer when, suddenly, Lundevall's foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator, causing Harvey to be pinned in front of the car.

Her injuries are said to be non-life-threatening. State Police say no charges will be filed.
