Authorities have identified the woman and two children who were killed in a fire Monday night at a home on Bradbury Street in Old Town.

Maiysha Somers-Jones, 34, Isis Doe, 10, and her 8-year-old brother, Zebulon Doe, were killed in the fire, Stephen McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said in a news release Tuesday night.

Somers-Jones was the girlfriend of the children's father, who was not home at the time of the fire.

Fire crews arrived on the scene just after 10 p.m. They found the two children in an upstairs bedroom and removed them from the home. Firefighters tried to resuscitate the children, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman's body was located in a first-floor bedroom.

The State Fire Marshall's Office and Maine State Police are investigating the cause of the fire. Investigators have said they have found no signs of working smoke detectors in the home.

Autopsies were conducted Tuesday in Augusta by the State Medical Examiner's Office, but no information is being released this evening.
