A winter storm warning remains in effect for the Bangor area as well as much of central and Downeast Maine until 7 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The updated forecast calls for 9-14 inches of snow lasting through Sunday evening. The heavy snowfall is expected to result in difficult driving conditions. Blowing and drifting snow is also expected to cause near white-out conditions at times.
