It's Deja vu all over again as the Winslow Black Raiders and Leavitt Hornets meet for the Class C football state championship tonight at Alfond Stadium. This will be a rematch of last years title game that was won by the Hornets 47-18, but much has changed since that game was played. Leavitt lost 20 players to graduation from a team that relied on punishing running attack to wear down their opponents. This year the Hornets are getting it done through the air. Junior Levi Craig was switched from running back to quarterback and has thrown for 2,983 yards and 34 touchdowns. Maxwell Green is the top receiver with 52 catches for 1,040 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Winslow will keep the ball on the ground with the Big 10 conferences second leading rusher Dylan Hapworth. The senior tailback has racked up 1,332 yards and 19 touchdowns. Bobby Chennard who threw 3 touchdown passes in the regional championship has 359 yards passing on the season.

This will be Leavitt's 5th appearance in the state title game in the last 6 years with wins in 2009 and 2013. The Black Raiders have lost the last two class C title games with their last gold ball coming in 2001 when they were a class B school.

You can hear the game live at 7pm on Sports Radio 92.9 The ticket, 929theticket.com, or on our free mobile app from Radio Pup.
